I Write Blogs When I Have Free Time
If you are one of the folks that actually follows my blogs (and I thank you if you do), you may wonder why sometimes they come out regularly on a monthly basis, and then there are gaps in content for a period of time and then another one will show up. The answer to that question is that I write the blogs when I have free periods of time that I am not working on cases. Now, technically, I’ve always got plenty of work to do and could justify never writing a blog, there are reasons that I write my own blogs and have resisted suggestions (mostly from our web folks who know more about this stuff than I) that I do what other companies and firms do, and have outside writers post blog material on our website so that I don’t have to be bogged down with it. It’s a great idea, right? I could get more content up. I could have the search engines look at our website and light up at the fact that new content has been put into play which, evidently, in turn, makes us more relevant. More relevance means more exposure. More exposure means more people seeing us and potentially contacting us. It’s very common in web marketing. And it works.
Knowledgeable
So again, why do I write my own blogs? Well, for one, when I choose a subject to write about, it’s because I practice in the area and have a greater understanding. I use that knowledge to try and inform people about changes in the law, or aspects of the law that they might not be aware of (you should check out my blogs on damages) when I see something that I think others might find interesting. I believe that people who are informed (and this is a philosophy of my practice) are going to make better decisions when that information gets applied to their own lives.
Accurate
Second, it’s pretty simple, I don’t trust other writers to accurately provide information to my readers in my field of expertise, and it would take me just as much time to go in and edit content from “professional” writers than it is to just write the blogs myself.
Authentic
Third, writing my own blogs is just more authentic in my mind. Maybe I’m a little looney on this aspect, but I’d like to think that people who read our blogs get insight into our philosophies and practices, as well as practical information (such as my blog on attorney’s fees). I know I get frustrated when I feel like I’m searching for professionals but their marketing provides no information about what I should expect as far as the cost of those services, or what those services would be like. I have tried to provide that information and a lot more that can be helpful in gaining understanding about the legal process when you have been injured because of someone else’s negligence. We at The Webster Law Firm, LLC, hope that there is something in our blogs to aid with questions that you might have (or provide you with questions you didn’t know to ask), but if you have other questions about Personal Injury (car accidents, injuries on other’s property, etc.) or Workers’ Compensation cases, please go ahead and give us a call.
