Colorado’s Licensed Legal Paraprofessional Program is helping bridge the gap between the growing need for legal assistance and the affordability challenges many families face today.
At Webster Law Firm, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality legal representation and guidance, regardless of their financial circumstances. As a Colorado Licensed Legal Paraprofessional (LLP), I have seen firsthand how expanding access to legal services can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout our community.
In June 2024, I became licensed as a Colorado Licensed Legal Paraprofessional, a milestone that allowed me to provide family law assistance to individuals who might otherwise struggle to obtain the legal support they need. Since receiving my licensure, I have had the privilege of helping members of our community navigate challenging family law matters while making legal services more accessible and affordable.
Improving Access to Justice in Colorado
Access to justice remains one of the most significant challenges facing our legal system. Every year, thousands of individuals enter family court without representation because they cannot afford traditional legal services. This often leaves people overwhelmed by complex legal procedures, court requirements, and emotionally difficult decisions.
As an LLP, I have worked with clients facing divorce, child custody disputes, parenting time issues, child support matters, and other family law concerns. Many of these clients simply need someone to help them understand the process, explain their options, and provide guidance through what can be a stressful and confusing legal journey. Helping clients feel informed, empowered, and supported is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
Affordable Legal Services for Colorado Families
One of the greatest benefits of the Colorado LLP Program is its ability to provide affordable legal services to individuals who may not qualify for free legal aid but cannot comfortably afford full attorney representation.
The program is not intended to replace attorneys. Instead, it provides another pathway for people to access professional legal assistance and obtain help with important family law matters. By expanding the range of legal service options available, Colorado is taking an important step toward ensuring that more individuals have meaningful access to the justice system.
My Experience Since Becoming Licensed
Since becoming licensed, I have had the opportunity to assist numerous individuals and families throughout Colorado. Every client has a unique story, but many share a common concern: they simply want help navigating the legal system and protecting what matters most to them. In appropriate circumstances, I am also able to provide pro bono assistance to individuals who otherwise may not have access to legal support.
Whether helping someone understand court procedures, prepare legal documents, or move forward with confidence during a difficult transition, I am proud to play a role in making legal services more accessible within our community. I also regularly volunteer with community legal assistance programs, including the Justice Center, Family Law Day, Legal Resource Day, and the Call-a-Lawyer program.

I am especially proud to have been part of Colorado’s inaugural class of Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals and grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this role. This licensure has allowed me to help more people access the legal support they need during some of life’s most challenging moments.
